“Gina”

Being a mom is hard. If you excel in one facet, you are failing in another. You are expected to be this mythical hero who can conquer all, but you are still human. So you push through and trudge along for as long as you can- taking the criticism and the love at the same time- until you lose it. You know your family loves you. You know they appreciate you. But the complaining and the pointing out your shortcomings adds up. It doesn’t help to motivate; it tears you down. You’re doing the best you can with what you are given, and at times, your best isn’t good enough. And let’s not throw in the fact that you are trying to undo the generational curses that have been passed down to you. You love with your whole heart. You feel with every fiber of your being. But you are tired. You are drained. You are human.

It feels good to be part of a project that recognizes all that and wants to showcase our accomplishments. We are our toughest critics, but to be able to come together with other moms who might feel that way and have someone in your corner speaks volumes.
